How to read an e-book

You can find e-books either in the sector information retrieval guides or on this e-resources page. If you want to read the e-book on a home computer or mobile device outside Centria's network, you must log in to the service with Centria's e-mail address and password via the Haka system.

The e-books offered by the Centria Library can be read on any computer or mobile device. They can be read with a web browser (PC, mobile devices) or Adobe Digital Editions reader.

Some e-books can be downloaded to the device for a limited time. Downloaded books are read with the free Adobe Digital Editions reader. Readers need to be used because the books are DRM-protected.

Ebook Central

You can read e-books either online with browser or download them to your PC or mobile device and read them with Adobe Digital Editions software.

While downloading an e-book, choose first which device you are using, that is PC or mobile device, after which you are asked to download Adobe Digital Editions software. Adobe Id must be authorized only in that case, if you want to read books also with other computers. If you only use one computer, checkmark the option I want to authorize my computer without an ID.

The downloaded e-book can be used within the time informed by the service, for instance 21 days. You can find all downloaded books on the bookshelf of Ebook Central.
