An implementation plan of the thesis has to be made using a Word template. Here's a general guideline for an implementation plan, that can be modified to fit different fields of study.

- Rationale for choosing the subject: topicality, how it fits into a broader context and the author's own motives
- Presentation of the development task that is the focus of the thesis and the connection of the development task with the field of study and of working life
- Introduction of the working life connection and other cooperation parties
- Presentation of the key concepts used in the thesis
- Goals and definitions
- Presentation of the objectives and delineation of the thesis as accurately as possible
- Question setting and data acquisition methods: what are the questions that will solve the development task
- Description of the data collection and analysis methods and the connection for development
- Purposeful knowledge base in the context of the field of study and the development task (i.e theoretical reference framework)
- Presentation of knowledge base (i.e theoretical reference framework), in which other, earlier studies, research, thesis and literature of the subject are described and presented, and
- the theoretical material is proportioned to one's own subject
- Sought results
- Presentation of the results to be pursued and how they will be reported
The student will approve the implementation plan with the evaluating teacher. In different fields of study there might be different needs and requirements concerning the implementation plan and it's important to remember that the chosen subject for the thesis might also affect the implementation plan and it's structure.
