Wihi instructions

3 Wihi functions

Each thesis phase has its own workspace containing the communication tools. After successfully completing one phase, you can proceed to the next phase. The tasks given by the students for themselves, details of the thesis, stakeholders’ statements and the details of thesis supervision are shown on the right.

They are saved in the workspace for the phase
in question so that all messages are stored in one place.

The recipient is automatically notified by email
of the files and messages added to the workspace.

You can enable the sending of confidential files as a separate function.

Details > Stakeholder´s statements:

Stakeholders’ statements contain the
feedback that the student receives from
parties other than the advisor (abstract and
language checks, feedback from the customer,
etc.).

Statements can only be submitted if the
student has sent the thesis to the person in
question for comments and the person in
question has sent feedback to the student.

The student will have an automatic email
notification of this feedback.

Details > Supervision and Guidance:

The thesis supervision details contain the
details of the thesis advisor. In addition to the
principal advisor, the thesis may also have an
assistant advisor. One of them acts as the
principal evaluator of your thesis.

The thesis examiner is responsible for
guidance and evaluation of language‐related
matters. The thesis examiner becomes
involved in the process by the start of phase
two but he/she usually joins the process at an
early stage.

You can upload files and send them to the advisor
for comments.

Click Upload file.

Choose and submit the file(s). The advisor is automatically notified of the files that you have sent.

Always attach a message to the files describing the content of the files and the state of your thesis project.

Correspondingly, the advisor can send you a file describing his/her observations. You will receive an automatic notification of this to your email.

Sending a confidential file

If you process confidential information (such as sensitive business data) as part of your thesis project, you can ask your advisor to enable a confidential area for returning documents. Your advisor can tell you whether such an area is needed.

Confidential documents can only be viewed by your advisor, other student members of the thesis project and the second examiner (=language checker).

There is a separate area for confidential files, and the files are downloaded in the manner described above. Make sure that you add the files containing confidential material to the right area.
