  • agrees with the student on the taking of the maturity test and checks the student’s school‐education language
  • tells the student how to send the thesis to the abstract checker and for language check
  • (advisor/principal evaluator) saves the thesis evaluation after the evaluator has saved the evaluation
  • approves the Theseus link of the thesis saved by the student

Evaluator

  • language checker gives the student feedback on the basis of the stakeholders’ statement
  • language checker evaluates the sections of the thesis in Wihi as agreed
Customer´s statement

Stakeholders’ statements contain the feedback that the student receives from parties other than the thesis advisor (abstract and language checks, feedback from the customer, etc.). No automatic email message on the feedback is sent but the advisor and the evaluator can view the feedback in Wihi.

The student can send the thesis to the customer for comments using the Stakeholders’ statement function (in Wihi the button Send for external comments), from which an entry will be saved in section Stakeholders’ statements. The recipient can download the sent file and return the
commented file to Wihi. The recipient can use the Wihi link for 28 days.

The student sends the English‐language abstract of the thesis for checks using the function Send for external comments. The advisor checks that the student knows to whom the abstract should be sent.

The student sends the final thesis version for language check. The student should reserve four weeks for the language check and also take into account the impact of holidays on the schedule.

Plagiarism check

When the thesis project reaches phase 3/3, a plagiarism check header appears on the page. This section can be viewed by the student and the principal advisor.

The student sends the thesis to plagiarism check application (Turnitin) via Wihi in PDF format. The results of the plagiarism check can only be viewed by the principal advisor and they are not visible to the student, coordinator or the checker.

The advisor is automatically notified of the results by email.

  1. The advisor can view the work returned for evaluation by opening the thesis sent for plagiarism check.
  2. The advisor examines the plagiarism check report by clicking Go to analysis.
  3. If the plagiarism check can be approved, the advisor clicks Approve. If the student still needs to make changes to the thesis that do not require a new plagiarism check, the advisor sends a message to the student listing the required changes and the student returns the work using ordinary return channels.
  4. If the student must make more extensive changes to the thesis, the advisor clicks Reject. In that case, the student must make the required corrections and return the corrected version again via plagiarism check.
  5. The student does not receive an automatic email message on the approval/rejection of the plagiarism check, and thus the advisor must send a separate message to the student via Wihi.
  6. Remember to approve the file checked for plagiarism so that the final evaluation of the thesis can be saved.
