Wihi instructions

9 Phases 1/3 and 2/3 of the thesis

In phases 1/3 and 2/3, the student returns a version/versions of the thesis via Wihi to the advisor for comments. The attachment may have to be edited several times until the targets set have been achieved. The advisor provides the student with feedback by returning the commented document or by sending a feedback message via Wihi.

The student can update the schedule for this or future phases and check the tasks he/she has set for himself/herself, create new tasks or update the situation information on previously prepared tasks.

After the student has returned an interim version of the thesis in phase 2/3, the activity note and phase will change to The activity flag in Wihi.

Text guidance during thesis process

In phase 2/3, the student must take part in text guidance in which he/she receives guidance on the language aspects of the thesis.

 In text guidance:

  • The student will independently familiarise himself/herself with the text guidance material in itslearning workspace.
  • The student sends via Wihi (‘Send for external comments’ function) a section of the thesis to the language checker in Word format.
  • The language checker will automatically receive an email message from Wihi on the document waiting for comments. The email contains a link to the message and the file sent by the student (at this stage, the checker does not need to log into Wihi).
  • The language checker sends feedback on the text and gives further instructions via Wihi.
  • The advisor can read the feedback from the language checker via stakeholders’ statement in Wihi.

The advisor provides the student with additional information on text guidance and checks that the student understands what to do.

Language text guidance (in phase 2/3) and evaluation (in phase 3/3) are the responsibility of the language checker set for Wihi.
