Evaluating the abstract

Send the English-language abstract of your thesis for checking. Ask your advisor to whom you should send the abstract for checking. Use the function Send for external comments. After you have added the file, click Send for comments (described in more detail in section 3.5 Sending a file for external comments).

Language check

Send your thesis for language check. Use the function Send for external comments. After you have added the file, click Submit (described in more detail in section 3.5 Sending a file for external comments).

The language of you thesis will be checked by a second examiner set for your work (for details, see Supervision of thesis). At least four weeks should be allocated for evaluating the document. Take into account the impact of holidays on the evaluation schedule. If you have not completed the final version, send the latest version so that the language checker can start the work. Check with the advisor when you should send the thesis for language check.

Customer´s statement

If your thesis has been ordered by a specific customer, you can send the document for comments. Remember to allocate enough time for this. The file that you have added will be relayed by email to the customer’s contact person. The link contained in the message will remain valid for 28 days. After you have added the file, click Send for external comments (described in more detail in Sending a file for external comments).

Maturity test

The maturity test is part of your thesis. It is written in the language in which you received your school education. Note that the language in which you received your school education is not the language in which your degree programme is taught. Determine with your advisor when you can take the maturity test.

Final evaluation and publishing the thesis in Theseus

After the advisor has evaluated the thesis, you must publish it in Theseus. You will receive an automatic email message of this: ‘Your thesis has been evaluated. Remember to add a link to the work.’ In Wihi, the status is indicated as: Your thesis has been evaluated.

A thesis is a public document and each thesis must be published in Theseus. For this reason, a thesis may not contain confidential or secret information. The confidential information can be included in the appendix, which may not be evaluated and must be omitted from the final version. A reference to this appendix must be made in the abstract. Make sure to select the correct file for publication.

You can decide whether your thesis will be published in the open or restricted Theseus collection. The open collection is universally accessible. Read more about this in section 8 Uploading thesis to Theseus in Centria Guide for Thesis and Academic Writing.

The evaluated version of your thesis will only be moved to Peppi after you have saved the Theseus publication link for your work.
