Coordinator
- A thesis coordinator has been appointed for each degree programme to review the topic proposals sent by the students and to set an advisor and, if necessary, an assistant advisor for each thesis project. The coordinator also approves the topic proposals sent by the students.
- Designates the advisor or assistant advisor as the principal evaluator to evaluate the thesis in Wihi.
- Designates an evaluator to check the language of the thesis. The language checker reviews the sections of the thesis in Wihi in the agreed manner.
- Monitors thesis progress in accordance with his/her own area of responsibility.
- Can also add students to the project and replace them.
- Can change a student’s right to study. Please note: Requires a permission from the Wihi administrator.
- Can remove a thesis project. Please note: Requires a permission from the Wihi administrator.
- Can make earlier phases of the thesis project available. This should only be done in exceptional cases. If for example, phase 1/3 has already been approved, the corresponding study attainment has already been entered in Peppi.
- Can return an already evaluated thesis for re‐evaluation.
Advisor/assistant advisor
- Supervises the progress of the thesis project phase by phase.
- Evaluates each phase after it has been successfully completed.
- Approves/rejects the plagiarism check (The assistant advisor is not authorised to do this).
- The advisor (principal evaluator) produces the final evaluation using the evaluation form.
- The advisor approves the thesis for publication (Theseus publication link), which moves the (numerical) final evaluation to Peppi.
Evaluator
- Examines and evaluates the language of the thesis and can view the contents of the phases of the thesis projects after the advisor has approved phase 2/3.
- The language checker reviews the sections of the thesis in Wihi in the agreed manner.
Student
- Starts the thesis process by preparing a topic proposal in Wihi and by sending it for approval.
- Writes the thesis in accordance with the instructions provided by the advisor. The student returns the tasks and/or interim report for each phase for guidance.
- Sends the work for plagiarism check.
- Sends the work for text guidance and, if necessary, to the customer.
- Saves the link to the published thesis (Theseus link) for the advisor for final evaluation.
- When the thesis is ready and has been evaluated and the link to the published work has been approved, the student can print out/save the evaluation statement from Wihi.
