Fairdata-services

National Fairdata service package consists of services that support the discoverability, preservation, and management of materials.

The Fairdata service consists of four parts:

  • IDA research data processing and storage service
  • Etsin research data search service
  • Qvain research data description tool
  • Fairdata PAS long-term storage service

  • The service implements Fairdata principles, according to which research data must be discoverable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable.

IDA - Research Data Storage Service

The IDA research data storage service (ida.fairdata.fi) is a secure and continuous research data storage service that is part of the Fairdata ecosystem.

IDA – Store and organize your research data before publishing it

  • Suitable for storing and organizing data during the research phase
  • However, IDA itself cannot process data; modified datasets must be stored there again
  • Sharing data among user groups
  • Storing data in an unaltered state
  • and publishing data as described research material.
  • IDA assigns a permanent identifier to published material.
  • Files of published research material can be made openly available for others to download or with a license, or only descriptive information, i.e., metadata, can be published.
