In the thesis, it should be noted that Centria is committed to TENK's Good Scientific Practice guidelines, and the student must be able to follow the guidelines. The student is thus responsible for his or her thesis, its content and research ethics choices.
The thesis may not be written solely with artificial intelligence, nor may individual pieces of text be written with artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence can be used to plan the thesis and to support the student's own learning.
In the thesis, the student can use artificial intelligence, e.g. as follows:
Language correction and proofreading must not be done with artificial intelligence, either the proofreading functions of the word processing application or sanakirja.fi service must be used for this.
The text produced by artificial intelligence must not be copied directly into one's own thesis, but the text must be written in one's own words and the correct sources must be found to support the text. You may not use direct quotations from text produced by artificial intelligence in your thesis.
If the student has received background material from the client, he or she cannot enter it into the artificial intelligence application without the client's permission. The material can belong either to the collector of the material or to the client, depending on what has been agreed. Analyzing the material for the artificial intelligence may, according to the terms of use, also transfer the material to the parallel use of the artificial intelligence, etc. Copyrighted material may not be fed to the artificial intelligence without permission. Business secrets, personal data or other confidential information must not be fed to artificial intelligence.
Centria's instructions on using of AI can be found from Digistart workspace in ItsLearning.
